Personality:

Kaede is a tween and embraces it. She's bratty, childish, loves her stuffed animals and her mood can be easily soiled if something minor happens that isn't in her favor. She has idols, crushes, draws and skates during her spare time. She meddles her way into things that concerns her and acts like what you would expect from somebody her age.

However, when it comes to her father she actively lashes against him, calling him out whenever possible and being assertive near him. But she has her reasons. Her father is rarely home, barely able to schedule time to visit due to his demanding job. And even though she knows this, and recently found out the details of said job, she can't really comprehend it, being so young its hard not be selfish about it. Her dad also treats her the same way as a little kid when her mother died and that drives her crazy. Even though at the present time their relationship is being mended, its still a strained relationship that has been going on for most of Kaede's life because of all the mistrust built against him.

On top of that she has a huge fear of being lonely and left alone by herself with no one to lean on. Once again, these fears aren't unfounded, her mom is dead, her father wasn't active in her life until recently, and her sole primary caretaker is her aging grandmother who she knows won't around forever to care for her. She's already gone through the sorrow of losing one person close to her when she was very young, and doesn't want it to happen again When she is reminded of this, she can be agitated from having a rather sore spot touched. She is fiercely loyal to anybody she is close to, even her own father and will do her best to help them. She is selfless, as seen when she encourages her father to go back to being a hero in order to keep doing what he loves, even if it means he won't be around as often again.

Like her father, she also feels no issues with breaking the rules, social norms or directly putting herself in danger as long as its for a good cause and the end justifies the means. She exhibits confidence in her strengths, even if its somewhat hindered by her young age, and proud of her hero lineage.
Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Loyal to her friends and family and will help them out when in need.
+ Caring towards her allies. She'll want what is best for them
+ Graceful since one of her hobbies is ice skating.
+ Fearless. She's willing to take risks that could land her getting into serious trouble if it's for a good cause.
+/- Tends to take action first, ask question later kind of style. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't such as her calling 911 because she panicked about her grandmother getting hurt over a minor injury.
+/- Blunt and honest. She doesn't take excuses and lies quietly and isn't reserved about calling out someone's bullshit without a hint of tact. Unfortunately this tactic doesn't always work and may end up hurting someone else.
- Terrified of being left alone with nobody else she's close to because of how her family situation is. She's seen her mom die while she was only four, had a scare with her father, and her primary caretaker in canon is pretty old herself.
- She's an eleven year old child who doesn't have the experience of traveling out in a big wide unknown world to her by herself for extended periods of time. It'll be easy for her to get lost or run into trouble. She's kind of used to living a normal life in a permanent house and not in some magical fantasyland.
- A bit of a temper and can lash out when something greatly frustrates her or tugs at a sensitive issue. She does not take excuses well either.

Eevee's unique evolution lines shares similarities to Kaede's canon powers. Much like how she can change her abilities upon exposure to a NEXT, Eevee changes its abilities and evolve when exposed to a stone, friendship, or an icy/moss rock.

And Kaede likes cute stuff and Eevee is cute so why not?

First Person Sample:

[Video]

[On the feed shows that Kaede has her PokeGear propped up and her foot is on a... rock? That's right a rock.]

Can anybody help me out here? This stupid thing won't come out at all.

[She tries to pick up the rock ball herself... and fails. She strains herself and almost pulls a muscle, but the "rock" is too heavy to pick up. But Kaede just bends down and tries to pry the spherical object with her own hands.]

Come on Geodude, can't you come out?! You're not gonna get to do anything at all if you keep lying around like a lazy bum.

[After that attempt and a few grunts later, she turns toward the camera. Her arms are crossed with a look of annoyance on her face.]

Is there any way I can get him out of his shell? Nothing that will hurt him though.

[Siiiigh.]

I knew I shouldn't have gone with an ugly Pokemon. Buuut no one of the other breeders said it would "build character" to raise one, what's that suppose to mean? I've got plenty of character already!

Well.. I guess I'll wait until Dad comes back from his job today.

Third Person Sample:

Awakening on what was little more than just a thick blanket was not what Kaede used to. Nor was the call of the Pidgeys off somewhere in the forest anything like the wakeup alarm she had inside of her room.

But what was the usual was seeing her father sleeping later than her, arms all sprawled out since he didn't sleep completely curled up. Her attention turned to Barnaby who was pretty handsome even while he was sleeping soundly, Kaede even giggled a little. She thought it was pretty fortunate of her to arrive with two companions from home, since many here in Johto arrived with none.

With her observation finished, she folded up her sleeping bag to fit inside of her pack and went behind a tree to change into her day clothes (with her Eevee keeping a watchful eye out). With all the preparations complete, why not make breakfast? She was hungry and didn't feel like waiting on two sleepyheads to make her something edible. She had just the thing too, with a Vulpix among the three party teams in their small traveling group. This would go well, right? All she had to was to sent up the food on some sticks and let the fox's fire do all the cooking with little effort on her part. And it would take much faster, solving her need for nourishment.

Wrong, the food she tried to cook with the Vulpix flames overcooked by a bit too much, reducing it to a burnt crispy thing that not even a Trubbish would want to digest. "Eww eww eww! Oh no!" She exclaimed, the gross smell flooding her nose not helping out. This was nothing like cooking with her grandma, where burning food was a rare occasion, only caused by her father's attempts to cook something different from his trademark favorite dish.

Unfortunately the noise and smell had awaken her guardians looking after her, much to her dismay. She stomped on the ground where the burnt food was laying out in an attempt to mask it away. Even her Eevee curled up behind her legs, sensing danger. With nothing else to do, she moved her arms behind her back and pretended to be unaware of the situation. At worst, her dad would scold her, but she was too prideful to admit to her mistake.
